The Earth Day Tokyo 2021 project “Earth Day Ekiden” scheduled to be held from April 22, 2021 has been canceled due to the circumstances of related organizations.
We sincerely apologize to those who have already applied, those who are planning to enter, those who were looking forward to the event, sudden announcements, and very disappointing news.

| Earth Day is about to begin! Everyone can challenge to go around the earth. |
● Have fun with your friends! Gather your friends for the purpose of “running 42.195km with 6 people” for 18 days from April 22nd (Earth Day) to May 9th (Mother’s Day). A total of 1000 teams connect 40,000km around the world.
You can participate by selecting “Running”, “Plogging *”, or “Walking” according to the individuality of the team.

… New fitness from Sweden that combines Plocka Upp and Jogging. That is Plogging. Since muscle training is added to running, it is ideal for dieting and stress relief. Now, the problem of plastic pollution has spread all over the world. “Earth Day Ekiden” will work with Planning Japan to tackle the plastic and waste problem.
● Of course, individual participation is also welcome! Individual participation can be selected from 5km and 10km. Participation as an individual can lead to the same goals and goals as others.

“Earth Day Forest” will protect the forest as the number of participants increases. We contribute to forests and global health that promote climate change (carbon dioxide absorption and fixation) and biodiversity.

“Earth Day Ekiden” is a new eco-sport in the new normal era where “earth”, “society” and “friends” become healthy at the same time.
April 22nd is “Earth Day” every year. On this day, environmental activities are taking place all over the world. Especially on Earth Day this year, US President Joe Biden will host the Climate Summit. Elon Musk, CEO of US electric vehicle maker Tesla, has released guidelines for a global contest to develop carbon dioxide reduction technologies. This year’s Earth Day is a day of worldwide attention.
Toward this Earth Day, Earth Day Tokyo will promote ecology activities that make the “earth,” “society,” and “self” healthy at the same time.
The project is “Earth Day Ekiden”. It will be held with the cooperation of the world-famous sports brand ASICS.
Earth Day Ekiden is looking for a team of 6 people x 1000 to run 42.195km. Of course, individual participation is also welcome! We are aiming for about 40,000 km around the earth.
In the era of COVID-19, we will tackle three problems at the same time.

◎ Sustainable society “SDGs”
Of the participation fee, the amount excluding the cost will be donated to “Earth Day Forest”. The more people involved, the more forests will be protected.
It contributes to global health such as climate change (absorption and fixation of carbon dioxide) and biodiversity. Earth Day Ekiden is a new eco-sport for a sustainable society.

【 How to complete the event 】
：
● Please complete each leg and race during race term with cheering each other.
● Once registered, you are not able to change leg order, so please be careful to decide each leg.
● For the individual race, you can complete at your preferred place and timing
【 Member requirement 】
：
Only aged 16 years old or more available to register
【 Other requirement 】：
Everyone must have mobile phone which can download and use “ASICS RunKeeper” to complete the race.
【 Entry fee 】：
6 ppl for a team : 12,000 JPY (inc tax)
Individual race : 2,000 JPY (inc tax)
【 How to Register for this Event! 】 ：
1. Team up with 6 members and discuss who’s becoming a team leader and team member and who’s running on each leg
2. At first, Teamleader access to Entry form via [Register] button
- Will register and create a team including Runkeeper sign up/log-in.
- Will pay 12,000 JPY at one time for the whole team.
- Will recieve the completion mail and let team members know the link on email for member registration along with code (password) and team name.
3. Next, Team members access to Entry form

- Each team member will register and pick up one of the legs.
- Once every member finishes registration, now you are ready for the race. Please enjoy talking about practice, when you run, how to celebrate…etc by April 22nd, the race start date.

Participation fee 2000 yen (excluding expenses) will be donated to the above organizations.
It will be used for forest conservation activities of each group.
Participants in “Earth Day Ekiden” are members of “Earth Day Forest”.
